Synthonic is the brainchild of jazz pianist, composer and producer, Kieron Garrett.
The project began in 2019 as a writing experiment, leading to the subsequent release of the debut EP “Sunshine” later that year. Following that success, several singles were signed to labels in Germany and the US to rave reviews.
2022 saw the first full album launch for “Do You Remember?”, an 8 track release which led to numerous radio plays, including an interview on BBC London’s Robert Elm Show and top reviews from big hitters such as Music News and Blues & Soul Magazine.
Sidmouth International Jazz & Blues Festival this Spring (May 2025) sees Synthonic’s next launch for the 10 track album “Lampin”. Expect tight funk grooves, incredible musicians and of course lots of synths!
“From beginning to end, this album (Do You Remember?) is a raucous, joyful explosion. The influences are loud and clear, some being, Deodato, Wonder & Hancock a holy triumvirate right there!…This guy is biting at the heels of Kamaal Williams, young Mr Wu needs to watch out and fast!” blues & soul magazine
“A technicolor cornucopia of sounds that will infallibly warm the soul and get you striding down the street with gusto…played with a jazz master’s touch, floated over funky ass beats” musicnews
Joining Kieron on stage will be some of the best and sought after jazz players in London, including Rag & Boneman’s trumpeter Paul Jordanous, alto sax player Piers Green, guitarist Leo Appleyard, bassist Mike Pratt (currently touring with Bill Bruford from “Yes”) & Chris Nickolls on drums.
